SEN Code of Practice
SEN Code of Practice
The Children and Families Act 2014 brought with it changes to the way in which support is provided to children and young people in England with Special Educational Needs. A new SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) Code of Practice was implemented on the 1st September 2014 and this new system aims to put each young person and their family at the centre of discussions about the support offered.
At Holywell Primary and Nursery School we aim to provide for the individual needs of all our children. Pupils with special educational needs (SEND) are supported in a variety of ways: through differentiated lessons, adult support, intervention groups and outside agencies. Funding is put in place to provide this additional support for the children who require it. In order to ensure the needs of these pupils are met, they are provided with focused targets on a Provision Plan which are written with the input of parents/carers and pupils.
