At Holywell, we deliver a curriculum of deep and sustainable learning for all. Through a combination of classroom action research led by our teachers, engagement with wider educational professionals including ResearchEd and CUSP (Curriculum with Unity Support Partnership), wider reading and current research, we implement a curriculum we are exceptionally passionate about.
Our curriculum is knowledge-led and is carefully sequenced and structured to ensure a coherent journey of progression across the school. Across the curriculum, in both core and wider curriculum subjects, key building blocks of knowledge are identified and taught and secured by learners before moving on. We make links in learning in year groups and between year groups, and link learning to concepts that are important to our school community and context.
We offer a curriculum which is balanced and broad by following the National Curriculum. Our early years provision follows the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage.
