  • Ofsted

Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) inspects and regulates services that care for children and young people, as well as education and skills provision for learners of all ages. Their work helps ensure high-quality education, care and training across England.

    Ofsted is responsible for:

    • Inspecting maintained schools, academies, some independent schools, and many other education and training programmes outside of higher education.

    • Inspecting childcare providers, adoption and fostering agencies and initial teacher training.

    • Publishing reports of their findings to help improve the overall quality of education and training.

    • Regulating a range of early years and children’s social care services to ensure they are safe and suitable for children and potentially vulnerable young people.

    • Reporting to policymakers on the effectiveness of these services.

Holywell Primary and Nursery School is currently awaiting an Ofsted inspection following our recent conversion to academy status. We are looking forward to welcoming inspectors and sharing the progress, achievements and exciting developments across our school. During this time, our focus remains on providing every child, every day with high-quality learning, care and support.
