Family Support

Family Support and 'Early Help' at Holywell

At Holywell Primary & Nursery School we recognise the challenges that families face in raising children. There may be times when you need extra help and support, whatever the reason might be. If this is the case, please come and talk to us. There are many ways in which we can help, either using our own specialists or accessing Early Help services available through the local authority.

  • We are currently gathering and updating the most recent Early Help Guidance for Parents for Worcestershire and Birmingham.

Bereavement Support

At Holywell, we seek bereavement support for pupils and their families from Touchstones charity.  After obtaining consent for a referral, Touchstones contact the family and liaise with school to arrange a time and space for support sessions with pupils to take place.

Touchstones

Holywell’s pastoral team, work in partnership with pupils and their families experiencing loss and bereavement.  Regular communication between home and school is developed to support families individual needs.  In addition to external support, pupils can access nurture sessions to help understand and deal with their feelings, supporting re-engagement back into school routine.  Pupil’s progress and well-being is continually monitored, with thoughtful consideration given to special occasions and events.  Where desired, anniversaries and birthdays of loved ones are sensitively and loving celebrated through the use of art and creativity.
