Welcome to the website of Holywell Primary and Nursery School

We enjoyed a highly successful year in 2013/14 and were very pleased with the outcome of our Ofsted inspection in March, which highlighted the school’s many strengths.

Our aim though is to keep improving.  We want teaching at Holywell to be of the highest quality, and we want to develop a rich curriculum that inspires and enthuses our children.  At the heart of our philosophy must be the principle that all of our pupils should fulfil their potential and develop a love of learning.

It is also important that we work in partnership with parents as this will underpin our success.

Our new website will provide the opportunity to keep you updated on the many developments in school, and I am sure the year ahead will, again, be a successful and exciting one.

Year 6 ‘Are We Alone’ Wow Event

Our Year 6 topic ‘Are We Alone’ involved making a D & T Spooky Box containing an electrical circuit. Parents and Grandparents joined us for a morning to share all our work and be part of a thrilling assembly.

Solar Eclipse

A fantastic day was had by all last Friday when the whole school went outside to view the spectacular Solar Eclipse.  The children then spent the day doing science related activities before sharing their work in a celebration assembly...

Let’s Explore…the dark!

Year 2 had a fantastic evening up on the Waseley Hills last night. They reached the Toposcope as the lights across Birmingham came on. They enjoyed climbing trees, rolling down hills and using their torches to create shadows! After Easter...
