Mary Anning was a British fossil collector, dealer and paleontologist. Her work on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset contributed to fundamental changes in scientific thinking about prehistoric life and the history of the Earth.
In 1823 she found the first complete ‘Plesiosaurus’ ( an extinct marine reptile which lived approximately 135 million to 120 million years ago).
Year 6 are having great fun making their own fossils.
We will add photos of our completed fossils to the website very soon!
