Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Sikh Gurudwara in Birmingham.

Our trip to the Gurudwara.

On the 22nd of April we visited the Sikh Gurudwara. To show respect, we firstly had to cover our hair. If we didn’t have any scarves to cover it, they provided us with cloths. Once we were ready, we quietly stepped inside. It was huge!

A Sikh guide led us to a room where we would be going to eat. Before we ate, our guide told us what the wrongs and rights were when living the Sikh lifestyle. Afterwards we were asked what we already knew about Sikhs and their religion.

Next, we entered the Prayer Room and we were offered some of the Parshard. It was incredibly sweet and squishy.

Once we had listened to the prayers, our guide took us up to a room where the Guru Granth Sahib slept. This room was built by only one Muslim to say that all religions should treat each other with respect.

This was an amazing experience for us all!
